What is the Excess Guarantee?
The Excess Guarantee is a simple piece of protection you can buy from us for one small fee. In return, it covers your motor insurance excess up to £1,000 when we repair your vehicle. In other words, the amount your insurer would normally expect you to pay towards a claim before they settle the rest is taken care of — up to that £1,000 limit — so the repair can go ahead without you having to find that money yourself. It applies whether the accident was your fault or that of a named driver on your policy, and it is subject to the straightforward terms set out below.
How the Excess Guarantee works — a worked example
The easiest way to see the value is with an example. Say you, or a named driver on your policy, were involved in a fault accident and your policy excess is £500. Normally you would have to pay that £500 before your insurer authorises and settles the repair. With the Excess Guarantee in place, that £500 is picked up for you — so you are not left out of pocket for the excess before your car is put right. The same principle applies right up to the £1,000 limit, whatever your excess happens to be.

Who qualifies and how the guarantee works
Qualifying is deliberately simple. You need a valid motor insurance policy — and that is really the only condition. There are no age restrictions and no driver-history checks, so it does not matter how long you have held your licence or what your record looks like. The guarantee is issued for 12 months from the date you buy it and can be renewed, and it is redeemable when the damaged vehicle is repaired by us at our Greenwich workshop. In short, it is protection you can arrange in advance and call on if and when you need it.

Here is the point many drivers do not realise: as the policyholder, it is your decision where your vehicle is repaired — not your insurer’s. You are free to choose Bodyteq.
